Prince Harry has a lot riding on his upcoming visit to England.
According to royal expert Afua Hagan, if the Duke of Sussex and King Charles III don’t meet during Harry’s visit, it would be a “very bad sign” any hope of a full reconciliation.
“I’m confident it will happen. I’ve always said it’s going to happen. It’s just going to take time,” the commentator told Newsweek.

“I’m not saying that we’re going to see William and Harry skipping hand-in-hand down the mall anytime soon, but they are going to reconcile,” Hagan said.
Harry is set to travel to the U.K. for an Invictus Games event later this summer.
The Spare author visited his father in September 2022. However, when Charles and Queen Camilla traveled to America last month, there was no reunion with Harry and Meghan Markle.
“There could be way more time for the King and Harry to find time in the diaries to be able to sit down and then to have a conversation,” Hagan noted.

“I think that this is a prime opportunity for them to have those conversations, sow those seeds of reconciliation,” she continued. “I definitely think they are going to have a face-to-face meeting.”
While it’s unclear if the Duchess of Sussex will join her husband during his visit to London, royal expert Ingrid Seward thinks His Majesty should host his son and his daughter-in-law at Balmoral.
“The only place that really I think they could meet, if the King is to get to know or at least see his grandchildren, is at Balmoral,” the journalist told The Mirror about Charles’ residence in Scotland.
“It’s the only time the King has time, and the Sussexes could be accommodated there because there are lots of cottages on the Estate,” Seward said.

Charles might be ready to have a deeper relationship with Harry, but Prince William and Kate Middleton likely aren’t. Especially, after the couple’s unofficial visits around the world.
“William says he’s being totally undermined and he’s convinced Harry and Meghan are to blame,” a source told Closer.
“William is at a point where he no longer trusts the majority of the palace staff because he knows most of them are loyal to his father and right now he and Charles are so divided when it comes to what to do about the Sussexes,” the insider claimed.
“He says they [Meghan and Harry are] using any scrap of information they can get their hands on to stay in Charles’ good books,” the source noted.

“The Sussexes do get quite a steady flow of information, but they insist there’s nothing nefarious about it, they say they’re simply being kept in the loop about situations within the family that might affect them,” they noted.
Harry has spoken publicly about wanting to patch things up with the leader of England as he continues to battle cancer.
“Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has,” he told the BBC in 2025.
The remark about Charles reportedly didn’t sit well with the Princess of Wales.
“When Harry said, ‘Well, I’d like to mend fences because we just don’t know how long the King has to live.’ Well, that kind of statement can be very hurtful to somebody who doesn’t really want to consider their own mortality and who is battling cancer,” author Christopher Andersen told Fox News Digital.
“Kate pretty much felt that would be it,” he continued. “She wasn’t going to try anymore. So, she has not. As a result, there has been no chance of any kind of… As a matter of fact, I don’t think we’ll ever see them make amends. At least it’s not on the horizon now.”
