Selena Gomez revealed she now has red hair on Instagram today.The star has been shooting Only Murders in the Building in London and teased the change is part of the upcoming season.This is her most dramatic hair change since she went platinum blond in 2021.
Selena Gomez is currently shooting Only Murders in the Building’s sixth season in London and while she has kept plot details private, she did tease a major hair change for her character, Mabel, on Instagram.
The actress shared photos from her time in the U.K. this morning, including a selfie and video of herself with copper curls. It marks the first time she has been a redhead.
“Wild things happening with @onlymurdershulu while adoring london 💕,” she captioned her post.
It’s unclear whether Gomez’s hair transformation is permanent or just a wig, but it marks her most dramatic color change since she went platinum blond in April 2021.

By September of that year, she was back to brunette and reminiscing about her blond days.
“So recently I went blonde, and I had the best time,” she told Vogue. “I think I’m definitely more of a character when I’m blonde. I felt like I could do crazy looks with my hair. I could, you know, try new things with my makeup, and it was just so much fun. I think that for a little bit, it was hard to keep up with, but I don’t know, I felt so cool and edgy. It was just a whole phase that I went through. I’m honestly missing it, not going to lie. Blonde Selena is not gone forever, I can tell you that.”
Gomez started shooting Only Murders in the Building last month. She celebrated the start of production with a shot of her with the cast, including lead co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.
