We are one week away from the World Cup kicking off, with Mexico hosting South Africa at the legendary Estadio Azteca, and the hype for the most-watched sports tournament in the world is starting to build, with brands across North America releasing their marketing materials for the spectacle.
While McDonald’s is giving away exclusive cups with some of the biggest faces of the World Cup’s past and present (along with Grimace), jersey manufacturer Nike dropped its star-studded mini-movie on Thursday to get fans excited for the tournament.

In the six-minute advertisement “Rip The Script,” the likes of LeBron James, Travis Scott, and even Channing Tatum crossed paths with some of the biggest names in the upcoming World Cup, such as Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The advertisement has been in the works for months, as evidenced by the fact that the main representative of England for the 2026 tournament was “Iceman” Cole Palmer of Chelsea, who was controversially left off the English 26-man roster by manager Thomas Tuchel.
