Kit Harrington says the ‘Game of Thrones’ cast did not stay in touch after the show ended because they “just had to move on with life.” Peter Dinklage added “We still have all those Al photos online of all of us still together at barbecues.”

We’re all just still looking for a better ending. Let us have the AI BBQ, Geezuz…

That’s what happens when you leave a job, move to another state, quit a gym… the people gradually fade out.

It’s just like any other job. Sometimes you work with people who will be in your life forever and sometimes you work with people you won’t miss.

I can very much sympathise with Peter Dinklage, I’m very bad at mestaging people. I can realise months have gone by without me messaging some of my friends, though thankfully my closest ones understand thats just me and dont see it as a slight against them or anything. But it is something I do need to work on.

I feel it’s hard to stay close after you finish a job. Unless you’re the LOTR cast w matching tattoos.

Worked in the entertainment industry. I would be with these people all day, sharing 3 meals a day, seeing them more than my own family, talking about everything, solving problems together etc. I’ve grown so close to so many people over the years and then the job ends and it’s just nothing…on to the next thing.

    7. People gotta stop thinking because they like the characters actors are just at the core . Co-workers . Yes some cast are close knit . But when you leave a job do you do yearly family vacations with your coworkers even if you worked their 10 years ? Probably not.

Gotta imagine it’s painful for them after that ending. Man…

I mean, I don’t talk to most of my old coworkers either, I imagine most don’t.

I mean on top of the fact that this is normal coworker behavior, its also not like they were all together that often even during filming? Arya was off side questing most of the show!

    11. A decent part of the GOT cast was together for Lena’s wedding. Maybe Kit was not there, but Peter was.

I would be very interested if they said their opinions on the dumpster fire that was the final season…

I guess the parasocial fan in me is sad the majority didn’t keep in touch, especially the ones who seemed to have genuine friendships like Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, and Lena and Peter who were friends prior to the show. But I get that in real life it’s hard to maintain these connections when you’re with them 8 hours a day anymore. As a classic 9-5er, I only have a couple of former colleagues I still keep in touch with.

    14. I figured Kit and Emilia were still close because him and his wife and her have been seen together since the show ended and he said in the video she lives down the road from them so makes sense.

    15. “ya what’s happens with me, stop talking, ya me” i hate dinkleberg so much

    16. I know Maisy and Sophie were really good friends after the show but I feel like there hasn’t been much evidence of it since the Jonas divorce

Given how big the cast is it’s not that surprising. At the end of the day it’s a job. A lot of people didn’t even film with each other and the ones who did you have to have personalities who mesh well together to want to stay in touch. Then all the other life factors of being busy with filming, not living in the same places, some have kids, ect.

    18. I maan the world collectively disassociate after GoT ended

I cannot imagine what the actors had to do to recalibrate. Then you just have the normal project end of showbiz. That’s brutal cut off of 10 years of your life

The pop culture vacuum of GoT needs to be studied. It was everywhere and then it was like the air got sucked out of the room after the finale. Everyone just hoped out as a unit.

    19. It’s just like all of us. If you move jobs do you stay in contact with all of your coworkers? For months or even years? Maybe a couple of them. Sure they spent years working on a show together but life moves on. It’s just like any other job to them. I don’t even see why this would be a topic of conversation.
