Most people assume Hollywood Walk of Fame stars are automatically handed out to the world’s biggest celebrities, but the process is actually more complicated than you’d think. It involves nominations, sponsorships, ceremonies, and agreeing to participate, which explains why some of entertainment’s biggest stars either turned down the honor or still don’t have one at all.Four people pose with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star plaque. In 2013, her now ex-husband, Kanye West, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and was very vocal about how he thinks it’s “ridiculous” that she doesn’t have one. “People are so, so dated and not modern. It’s like, there’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t have a star on the Walk of Fame. It’s ridiculous, old concepts,” he said. Two people talking during a televised interview. In 2012, Kardashian mentioned how receiving a star is something she’s striving for.

“I think there was a quote where somebody said that reality stars will never get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. So, of course I’m so competitive that I think that it would be a huge achievement and a goal that anyone would want. I would love to break that mold,” she told V Magazine.

Now that it’s been over a decade since she’s talked about wanting a star, Kardashian could become eligible for this honor. In recent years, she’s expanded into acting, potentially opening the door for eligibility in an official Walk of Fame category.
