I used to have a lot of loose skin on my stomach and it went off constantly… and because I looked thin (but it was remnants of massive weight loss) the security always looked confused and suddenly they were touching all my squishy bits 😅
I wore jean shorts and got pulled to the side on my first flight and it set it off in the exact same area… I was 13. If you didn’t know, if you’re over the age of 12 and that happens, they still have to pat you down. So, I’m 13 and getting pat down in my crotch and butt area in the middle of an airport… I feel you gurl. It was my buttons, but if your pants are super thick or there’s metal(like you said) down there, then it sets it off… yay 😀
No, cause this literally happened to me😭 when I went on a high school trip to NY I was on my period and wearing a pad.. I have a very heavy flow. I got flagged too and she asked me the same thing but I didn’t want to get escorted in front of my class so she patted me down in front of everyone💀
Same thing with my period underwear and a girdle on. Frisked girdle had hook and eye at crotch was wearing over period panties as just in case because it was out and back same day business meetings and I don’t take chances on business travel where I don’t have a bag or change of clothes. I didn’t have my period at the time but I figured it was my crotch hook and eye closure maybe.

The lady told me it happens alot. Back in Feb when I went to the same place, it didnt go off and I wore leggings and no undies either.
My boyfriend often gets stopped because of the size of his, well, you know. I think it’s kinda funny but I know how uncomfortable that would probably be.
