Good way to learn they literally never respected your relationship and a solid reason to actively try to never think of them again.

had someone ghost me after a year long committed relationship. hurt so fucking bad.
edit: maybe the worst part was how I couldn’t tell it was really over. I genuinely felt she would surely call “tomorrow” until that hope slowly evaporated one day at a time

This happened to my aunt and I don’t think she has recovered from this in 20 years.
Dude just left her and their bed and breakfast business behind, moved to the other side of the country. She never saw him again.
I know a lot of people avoid confrontation in relationships, but I can’t wrap my head around this amount of cowardice.

I remember videos of them together and it really seemed like they never made sense together.

I commend Ella for telling this story! So brave, I never knew a ghosting would happen in a MARRIAGE. Shocked Hannah did that for whatever reason.

Didn’t she cheat on Hannah? I remember reading that was the cause for the divorce. Granted it’s been a couple of years so memory might be off.

My best friend ghosted me in 2006 after 11 years of friendship. It’s still really difficult for me to trust people.

Harto as in My Drunk Kitchen on YT? That’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. She always talked about having a traumatic childhood in her videos, makes sense how she’d have a flight response as an adult. Not tryna excuse anything, ghosting is a cruel way to end a marriage- especially if the partner wasn’t abusive/cheating.

Not to assign blame but don’t these types of divorces occur when the relationship is incredibly fucked up?

I’m 44 and still deeply traumatized by a 3 month relationship ghosting when I was 35 and Bumble wasn’t what it would eventually become. Wild thinking about…yes, I’m more mature and have learned and become older/wiser in the process, but I never really opened up again. Sucks.

Stories like this are why I’m always mentally prepared for a man to ghost me or disappear. It’s wrong that people do it, but you can’t enforce otherwise. You can’t stop your partner from leaving if that’s what they really want or change how they decided to leave. So I just learned to accept it before it even happens. I never want to be blindsided.

That’s cold. At least Hannah wrung 50+ videos of content out of the wedding though! (I loved the Holy Trinity back in the day, but I’m glad I peaced out before that.) I thought her self-imposed exile might’ve been from shame but nah, this some shameless behavior.

Huh? It’s been a while since I watched Hannah Hart, but what the fuck happened?
Kateth7 on
I cannot watch the video now but I read on wiki that Hannah and her sister’s mother had (has?) psychosis when they were young and they were in her care. I don’t want to speculate, though, since I know nothing about Hannah and Ella and their special circumstances but I won’t be shaming Hannah since it might be out of her control (it might be fully in her control; in that case, I take my comment back).

This is how my 8 year relationship ended. Woke up made our kid breakfast and saw a note on the table saying she wasnt coming home. Refused to talk or answer her phone. This was also the first day of the covid stay at home order. She was living on her friend’s couch partying it up while I had our daughter.

I don’t know her and don’t know what was going on in their relationship, so I’m not going to judge. There are some circumstances where I’d think leaving like that’s terrible to do, and there are others where I’d think it was a reasonable thing to do.

Just want to offer a different perspective. I “ghosted” my ex after he choked me. I left and spent good money on a lawyer who swore I would never have to see or talk to my ex and kept his word on that. My ex pretends he has no idea why I left and tells others that I ghosted him.
I don’t know what happened in this relationship, but sometimes there’s good reason to run and never look back. If you’re being abused you don’t owe someone one more meeting, or an explanation or chance to say good-bye. Sometimes ghosting keeps people alive.

Damnnnnn I used to LOVE Hannah’s videos back in early YouTube days. I never expected this from her!

At the time, I believe the leading ‘theory’ regarding their divorce was that Ella had cheated. There were some pretty convincing hints. If that’s the case, ghosting her is not unreasonable imo
I also find it kind of suspicious that Ella is only saying this publicly at a time in which Hannah has been completely off the internet for a few years so can’t/won’t defend herself
turningtee74 on
Not saying it’s great to do that especially to your spouse, but sounding like she cheated. I’m not victim blaming people who’ve been ghosted for no reason, but sometimes you hear stories of people who have tried to speak up or set boundaries a lot until they are just done. It isn’t always so one sided as people make it seem

My husband without warning blocked me one day, disappeared completely then sent me divorce papers through the mail weeks later and never saw me face to face ever again.
He emailed me out of the blue around a year after our divorce was finalized to tell me he was in my home country, the place he refused to visit our entire relationship.
It’s been around 7 years since that happened now but him telling me he went to Gregg’s without me still fucking haunts me. The bastard.

Just fyi, Ella posted a now deleted youtube video a while ago after a period in rehab that featured a journal of hers, in which she wrote some reasons as to why she went to rehab which said:
“Reasons why I’m in here:
Called CPS on Naomi
Punched Maggie in the face
Broke Hannah’s PlayStation and other gaming thing”
Naomi and Maggie are Hannah Hart’s sisters.

We need to be more specific in how we use language. This wasn’t “ghosting,” this was abandonment.
