Seven-year-old Lena Tindall once again proved herself the most endearing young royal at Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling’s wedding ceremony, delighting onlookers as she gleefully splashed about in the rain.
Harriet Sperling, a 45-year-old paediatric nurse specialist for the NHS, tied the knot with Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne, in a stunning Emilia Wickstead bridal gown on Saturday.
Almost every senior member of the Royal Family made their way to the picturesque village of Kemble, near Cirencester in Gloucestershire, for the intimate ceremony, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the King and Queen.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were also amongst the guests — marking the first occasion they have featured in a major Royal Family gathering since the arrest of their father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, however, were notably absent.
Lena, daughter of Olympian Zara and former England rugby international Mike Tindall, captured the hearts of royal well-wishers as she merrily played with her unicorn umbrella outside Kemble’s All Saints Church following the private ceremony.
Dressed in a floral white dress with pink shoes and a coloured ribbon in her hair, Lena was spotted holding her umbrella over Mike’s head before dissolving into fits of laughter, with photographs later showing Mike taking charge of the item himself.

Meanwhile, Lena’s elder sister Mia, 12, observed the scene with a rather bemused expression.
Clutching her own umbrella to shield herself from the downpour, the stylish young royal cut a chic figure that highlighted her burgeoning sense of fashion. Queen Elizabeth II’s great-granddaughter Mia turned heads with her impeccable sense of style, appearing in an elegant blue floral dress paired with a beige headband.
Yet it was her eye-catching metallic heels that truly stole the spotlight, reports the Mirror.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror: “This was a much needed joyful day for the family, and a chance to show that they – or at least most of them – remain united in spite of all the damaging headlines of recent times.”
The disgraced ex-prince Andrew’s two daughters attended the wedding with their husbands after maintaining a notably low public profile for several months. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror that the sisters’ public appearance was “quite brave”.

Bond said: “I thought it was quite brave of Beatrice and Eugenie to show up… knowing that the cameras would be on them. They’ve had a lot of highly critical press lately and it can’t have been easy for them to face the media. But they did seem to keep quite a low profile, particularly as the bridal party left the church.

“I’m sure they were determined not to draw any of the limelight from the bride and groom, who looked incredibly happy and relaxed together.”
