Based on the photo alone, I don’t know this actor much or his history so don’t jump down my throat, it looks like he was in a mostly white town letting white people use him as a hot token and do disgusting things like draw a swastika on his forehead bc they were his friends welcoming him into their white community? I too have grown up with mostly racist white people in suburbia.

Edit to add: If you read this and think in any way I am *excusing* this type of behavior instead of calling it out for what it is because I have seen this dynamic play out in the suburbs, just keep scrolling. I beg you to just keep scrolling. I am not on the internet to split hairs and argue about every f-cking thing. Just keep scrolling! Have a nice Sunday,

He was a minor. He obviously didn’t draw the swastika himself. Maybe give people a break and an opportunity to learn and grow up.

Given how easy it is to go your entire life without wearing a swastika or saying the n-word, it’s pretty stunning how many celebrities not only do so but also get filmed doing it.

All I’m going to say is it looks like all of them had multiple people drawing on their faces/bodies and their shirts. Considering its location, it’s likely he didn’t draw it and maybe was not aware of it when the photo was taken.

So I’m gonna wait for more context.

It’s not that hard not to draw a hate symbol on your face. I’ve done a lot of stupid shit in my life but even I’ve managed to avoid that one.

    6. SatanicNipples on

Odds are someone else drew that on him. He might not have even known.

waiting for the crowd of ppl who say “but he was a kid! everyone has a racist phase! he made a mistake, didn’t youuuuu?!!!!”

      gross, no…

    8. Kidgorgeoushere on

      Oh bro…yikes.

We all make stupid mistakes at 17-18 years old but we aren’t stupid enough to not know what symbols like that mean!!

    9. CestQuoiLeFuck on

This looks like froshing and/or grad signing aka. Teenage shitbags taking the opportunity to draw/write whatever on another kid just because they can while they’re supposed to be writing goodbye grad messages or whatever. Notice that there’s also an upside down cross, a heart, and all kinds of names signed.

I appreciate that we’re all a bit traumed out from celebrities turning out to be disgusting pigs, but this seems like a nothingburger…

And he will come out saying I was young and stupid, funny thing me and all my friends were also once young and stupid and never did anything like this.

    11. throwawaysixties on

I know nothing of this show or this man but it looks like he is a walking yearbook. I doubt he did this himself.

    12. Can I just say this obviously isn’t right. However, I remember teenagers literally did the same thing at my school on the “signing shirts day” or whatever. There’s more images where several of the kids have it, not just him. I don’t think this stupidity reflects on his character now

It’s very frustrating that people are cyber stalking anyone linked to him when he was younger to try and find anything problematic, and then withholding it and leaking it whenever they feel like it. It’s extremely hurtful to all who this stuff hurts

Edit: this reminds me of that infamous Taylor Swift picture where she’s posing for a photo with that guy who had that huge swastika on his shirt. Now I would assume Taylor isn’t a nazi. It’s just a very bad look based on an image

    13. not his stans saying “it’s a buddhist symbol!!!” as an excuse

the buddhist symbol isn’t tilted like that, be serious

    14. the insta account was bad enough but tons of his fans excused that and brushed it off. there’s def no way to excuse this though 😬😬

I disagree with treating hate symbols as a joke when the internet had already existed at that age, but this was dug up from the VSCO account of a schoolmate from highschool. It is definitely wrong, and being young doesn’t excuse that, but the lengths people go to find dirt on him is also so strange. They are stalking him and all his friends from they were minors now. They do not care about whose feelings are affected here.

    16. I mean, he was raised in Kamloops. Alberta lite with sprinkles of lots of racism

    17. TrueCrimeRunner92 on

Would anyone really draw that on their own face like that? Contextually with the signed shirts etc it looks like everyone has Sharpies and is writing on one another, and I can see another teen doing that as a “joke” (biiiiiiiig air quotes around joke).

    18. Edgy “humor” seems to still be alive and kicking. I really don’t know why in 2018 kids were still doing this shit or why they’d let themselves be photographed like this while doing it. Racism will never be funny. Pushing people’s buttons in the name of humor is like the most effortless low-hanging fruit but instead of it actually being fruit it’s just a turd.

Lots of excuses when the Instagram Profile was called “Chiggas”

As someone with a disability with a slur associated with it, it really sucks to see people time and time again shrug off offenses teens and young adults should know not to do. And the argument it’s just edginess does nothing to make the real people hurt by these actions feel better. We often don’t hold teens and their parents accountable and they grow up to be the type of parents who don’t correct their kids when they make fun of my disabled kid because their kid “just didn’t know”, and it’s then up to my kid to educate them.

The amount of people making actual excuses for this behavior is so insane it’s funny. There’s zero excuse for this, and grasping at straws trying to excuse it is actually pathetic.

    22. bouncybreadstick on

not defending anyone using the symbol but he definitely didn’t draw this on himself

    23. pureslashhoney on

“he grew up in an all white town and didn’t know any better 🥺” and he’s also half white and continues to mock black culture and show up to events wearing grills and speaks with a blaccent and uses dark skinned emojis. he’s a grown ass man who is showing us who he is over and over. tired of this seeing so many fujos defend this racist because of a fictional show.
