Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott are red carpet and Tony Awards-official. The parents-to-be looked smiley and elegant as they made their entrance at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall tonight for the 79th Annual Tony Awards.
Plaza was sleek in a striped black-and-white dress that hugged her baby bump. Abbott, meanwhile, wore a sharp black velvet suit and tie, coordinating with his partner.
He wrapped his arm around her waist as they walked the red carpet.

The pair, who met while co-starring in the 2020 indie film Black Bear and later shared the theater stage in the 2023 off-Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, began dating in late 2025.

While they have kept their relationship relatively private since, Plaza has spoken publicly of their happy baby news, noting how excited she is to experience motherhood for the first time. “I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know? It just seems so interesting, that whole thing,” she recently said on the Smartless podcast.

Plaza and Abbott’s joint appearance tonight, then, is a big step for the couple, and comes as Abbott is up for his first Tony.
The actor is up for the award of Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for his raw, powerful portrayal of Biff Loman in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman. The star-studded production—which also features Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf—is the most-nominated play of the season with nine nods.
