I’ve been in perimenopause for 7 years, and it’s no joke. I live in a rural area and there are no women OBGYNs within an hour of me, let alone one trained to know more than just the vague symptoms my Mom warned me about. What an incredible gift Ms. Melinda is giving the world.

Omg this is SO NEEDED!! I have been in perimenopause for a bout a year (I am fifty). I have not gotten a good’s night sleep in this time. I mean I get like maybe 3 hours. No matter what time I go to bed I wake up 3 to 4 (on a good night) later. My brain fog is awful and I crash on the weekends trying to makeup the sleep.

My coworker who is 59 told me she hasn’t had more than four hours of light sleep for ten years and has awful brain fog. She said “this is life now for you.” I almost burst into tears. My doctor has me trying melatonin but it might as well be a placebo.

I will be seeing my doctor later this year and ask for more help.

OMG, let me rant about this issue!! I was sooo sooo close to being in menopause, and I was like “Wow, I’ve really been kind of cruising though this perimenopause thing! No real hot flashes, if anything I’m cold more often than hot. Little insomnia, but not major, and no super mood swings. I’m doing great!”

Well, guess who decided to show up yesterday after 8 months?? You guessed it! I don’t know if it decided to show back up because my body is finally getting back to normal after my near death septic shock incident back at the end of the year, or if it’s because I’ve lost 50lbs since March or what, but I only had four months to go and now I have to start that count all over again. I’m in my 50’s I don’t want to have to deal with this anymore!! And now I’m worried that I will start having some of the more gnarly symptoms further down the road because I wasn’t actually in perimenopause like I thought I was.
