It was loud and enthusiastic because they all hate him. Totally selfish and douchey move being there. Not only did it prevent thousands of fans from enjoying the event, it also blocked access to local bars, so they lost money and workers lost wages.

Fully believe it was boos, but there is enough plausible deniability in recordings (whistling and higher pitched shouts are definitely there in what I heard), that this could be a successful spin for the cult. Just looking for some independent verification.
