It’s been a decade since the world lost a truly gifted artist whose life was cut tragically short…Christina Grimmie was only 22 when she was murdered at her own concert in Orlando. She greeted a fan with open arms, only for him to shoot her.

I still remember how I felt reading about this at the time. The most wholesome creator on the whole of YouTube. Everyone was rightfully devastated. And her poor brother.
I will never understand these fan murders. What does one have to gain from taking the life of someone they claim to adore and admire?

The fact that she was literally in the process of going to hug that man when he killed her is something I’ve never forgotten. It’s just so utterly horrific. And her brother being there as well. This will just always be a tragedy that shouldn’t have happened.
Her cover of Just a Dream is still in my rotation, as is Without Him. I’ll always wonder how her voice and sound would have continued to develop.

Will forever comment on every post of her. When she went on tour with Selena Gomez I was pretty young and was so excited to see both of them. When we were walking around the halls after the show I saw Christina and my mom called out to her. The security tried to usher her along but she stopped and made a point to come talk to us. She was so friendly and truly took that moment to stop and listen to what I had to say about her music, she signed my tour book and went on about her business with the angry security. Such a kind, wonderful and talented woman. Truly a tragedy we lost her so soon!
And then the Pulse Massacre happened. A terrible time.
RIP. A name and story I’ll never forget.
I was on my first large + national entertainment tour when this happened. The unsteady feeling lingered through the rest of the run. It was the first time I really understood the danger that performers and crew were in every day if fans didn’t uphold the social contract.
Worked at this venue three years later, the bad feeling never went away through the day.
