    1. would be interesting to see the narrative of the right about this. it’s hard to be called a far left lgbt and simultaneously an islamist.

“City Hall will not back down in the face of federal attacks against trans New Yorkers”.

Look, I WANT to believe Zohran on this. He’s the first politician I’ve seen be receptive to feedback and for the people. But so far, I have to critique how little he has done in comparison to what he promised and continues to promise. NYU Langone has ended its trans youth healthcare program (Because of Federal attacks) and Mt. Sinai has confirmed it would share medical records of trans youths with the Trump administration if asked (They WILL ask). Meanwhile, Zohran has pledged to open a city run trans healthcare clinic that only provides care to those 19 and older, once more leaving trans youth without any options and forcing them to undergo the wrong puberty and deal with years of dysphoria which is PROVEN to be a huge factor in trans suicide.

making this worse, the setting of the age to 19 as opposed to 18, the legal age of adulthood, simply sets a precedent that trans people CAN be denied care at any age. That we can be made to have zero bodily autonomy and be forced to suffer. It’s a pre-emptive capitulation to the Trump regime even as he says that he won’t capitulate to them.

And this, a few days after launching a campaign to highlight rights that trans new yorkers have. I’ll not deny that NYC is better than a lot of places, but we still aren’t equal there either. Trans kids are going to keep suffering. Highlight what you plan to do for them instead.

Again, I want to believe Zohran. I vehemently support so much of what he’s done for NYC and wish he was my mayor. But he’s still a public servant. And if this is the best service he can provide to his trans residents as the mayor of the country’s most important city, it leaves a lot to be desired.
