Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’, featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles, hit cinemas on June 12, 2026. The movie is inspired by the real stories of people during the Partition of India.
‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ box office collection Day 1
The team of the Imtiaz Ali directorial extensively promoted the movie on various platforms. On the opening day, the Diljit starrer was screened across 2,302 screens in the country and managed to earn an estimated net total of Rs 1.15 crore at the box office on Day 1, while the total India gross collection stands at Rs 1.38 crore. Meanwhile, the overall occupancy of the film on Day 1 was 12.22%.
Stiff competition at the box office
‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ clashed with ‘Bharata Bhhagya Viddhaata’ at the box office. From the box office report, the Imtiaz Ali directorial, took a lead over the Kangana Ranaut starrer by a small margin. It has earned Rs 1 crore on Day 1.On the other hand, the Diljit Dosanjh movie also locked horns with Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Governor’. It is sharing screens with ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ and ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ as well.
