      Not at all the show or band I’d have preferred Rodrigo to be at/endorsing 😔 but I understand Stefani still has some girl power caché and this was probably savvy marketing

      I was assured by her stans that hugging MAGA people transfers their MAGA to you.

      I’m guessing that won’t apply here. Because of a made up reason that cancels it out. The exact circumstance that only applies to her.

      Or we could all be reasonable about everyone in similar situations!

      I hate Gwen Stefani. I love Olivia. The two things can co-exist. Gwen is a culture vulture and a racist. She has been a culture vulture her entire career because she cosplayed as a feminist to come up as a pop star when her values were always rooted in anti-woman misogyny.

      That’s genuinely gross, but what will be just as annoying is that while other artists are crucified for taking a picture with someone who’s MAGA, bc Olivia is Reddit’s darling right now, there will be minimal blowback on her and her choice to get on stage with someone so heinous. It’s really the hypocrisy for me.

      Shouldn’t be too much to ask for a little bit of consistency in your beliefs. That goes for Olivia and the people who will defend her for this. She’s extremely talented, and I admire her for speaking out on what matters to her, but this kind of behavior genuinely undermines that. I know Gwen Stefani was an icon but really, idt a hug from her is worth compromising your values over.

      Im just a girl who advocates for and funds planned parenthood… hugging a woman who likely does the opposite due to her conservative beliefs.

      I don’t know if most people realize how shitty Gwen is outside of Reddit – I loved no doubt growing up and I don’t think the entire band shares Gwen’s views, so I’m inclined to chalk this up to Olivia not knowing about how awful Gwen is & just fangirling a band she used to love
