Levi’s is now using this “wrapped” logo as their Instagram profile pic (since they aren’t an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup, Levi’s was asked to hide its logo on Levi’s Stadium)

That’s actually quite clever…how to use not being allowed to advertise to actually advertise.

FIFA making stadiums change their names just because many are not official FIFA sponsors is so idiotic

I’m hardly going to celebrate or rally alongside a company to try and make even more corporate slop at an already extremely corporate event.

I hate FIFA like anyone else, but this is actually one of the good rules they have: During a tournament, stadiums may only carry the name of their city or location (clean venue rules and venue neutralization).
It is not directly related to a company being an official sponsor or not, although it plays a role that unauthorized brand names on stadiums may devalue sponsorship deals with FIFA.

They should have wrapped it in a denim looking sheet for the elevated brand experience lol
Note: Better yet they should have supplied the stadium with a custom cover made of multiple Levi jeans.

…Okay, THAT’S funny.

Wouldn’t FIFA forcing the stadium to cover up its name be a violation of the stadium’s naming rights contract? That seems stupid to open yourself up to a lawsuit like that.
