    Oliver Tree, a singer-songwriter known for such hits as Life Goes On, Miss You and “Alien Boy,” has died.

    Tree and five others died on Sunday morning when two helicopters collided near Rio de Janeiro, according to The Associated Press. He was 32.

    According to The AP, police said Tree was on the list of passengers and pilots on the helicopters, but the bodies of the deceased have not been identified. TMZ reported that Tree and four others were in one of the helicopters, while one pilot was in the other. Per The AP, Rio de Janeiro Military Fire Department said after the helicopters collided, they crashed into a car dealership that carries electric vehicles.

    One of passengers onboard the helicopter carrying Tree was Argentine YouTube star Gaspi, whose real name is Gaspar Prim, according to TMZ. Prim was 23.

    According to Variety, Tree had recently embarked on a world tour that began on May 30 in Mexico City. Touring in support of his new album Love You Madly, Hate You Badly, Tree announced his concerts on X on May 8, writing, “The world’s first world tour 7 continents. 40+ countries. 6 months of beautiful chaos. See you out there.”

    Tree had several tour stops planned for the U.S. and Canada, and also had concerts scheduled in Spain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, the U.K., Australia, China and the Netherlands.

    Oliver Tree’s ‘Life Goes On’ Was A Platinum Hit In 2020

    Born Oliver Tree Nickell in Santa Cruz, Calif., on June 29, 1993, Tree’s studio debut album, Ugly is Beautiful, was released by Atlantic Records in July 2020. The album contained the hit “Life Goes On,” which was certified platinum in the U.S. in 2021.

    Tree starred in and directed the “Life Goes On” music video, which to date has gotten more than 465 million views on YouTube. Throughout his career, Tree directed 30 of his music videos.

    Another single from the Ugly is Beautiful album, “Miss You,” featuring Tree and Robin Schulz, was a big international hit in 2022. Tree’s Ugly is Beautiful LP was followed by the 2022 album Cowboy Tears and Alone in a Crowd in 2023. Independently, the singer and musician released his first album, Splitting Branches, under the name “Tree” in 2013.

    In April, Tree’s song “Do You Feel Me” was featured in an episode of the hit animated Prime Video series Invincible.

    Known for his quirky fashion and stage persona, Tree had a massive following on TikTok with 15.5 million followers.
