The comedy revue, currently playing its first full-length Broadway run at the Shubert Theatre, features a rotating celebrity cast reading other stars’ memoirs.
See Celebrity Autobiography in its final chapter on Broadway: The comedy revue, originally set to perform through the summer, has set an early closing date of June 21. At the time of closing, the show will have played 43 total performances at the Shubert Theatre.
Created in 1998 by Eugene Pack and co-developed with Dayle Reyfel, Celebrity Autobiography features a rotating lineup of celebrity cast members reading bits of other stars’ unintentionally funny autobiographies. The show won a 2009 Drama Desk Award for its Off-Broadway premiere and played a three-night special engagement on Broadway in 2018, but the 2026 remount marks its first full-length Broadway run.
Over 40 stars were on the roster for the show’s run, including Mario Cantone, Jeff Hiller, Jackie Hoffman, Christopher Jackson, Gayle King, Andrea Martin, Kenan Thompson, Nia Vardalos, Rita Wilson, and Matthew Broderick. Check New York Theatre Guide’s performance calendar to find out which stars will appear at each remaining performance.
