What a shock, I had no idea she had so many iconic roles. I hope she rests in peace

Oh no! I didn’t know she was around m age, I always thought of her as a young lady. RIP Lilo.

Saved you a click: Complications from meningitis and blood infection.

Edit: Clarity because the abbreviation was causing confusion, sorry lol

    4. I seem to recall she had been homeless and struggling with addiction a few years ago. Sad to see this update.

      I loved her voice 🙁

    5. I enjoyed her acting very much in Big Love and of course, as Lilo. This is crazy, we’re about the same age and I’ve seen her in stuff since I was a kid. Jarring and sad.

That’s so incredibly sad. I got meningitis from mold in my home that I had no idea about. I also had pneumonia. I didn’t show up to work and my coworker called my parents.

I wish her loved ones much love right now. She was such a good actress.

Oh, that hurts. She’s my age, I grew up watching her as Lilo.

      Fuck.

Absolutely devastating. She was only a little older than me, but her voice was a huge part of my childhood. RIP

I remember the video of her being so young being around Diddy and Ashton.

      RIP beautiful.

How horrible for her loved ones. I recall she had struggles over the past several years, but this news is a shock and just so sad.

We’re the same age, and growing up I thought she was just so effortlessly talented and charming. In my imaginary life, I was Daveigh and Michelle Trachtenberg was my incredibly cool big sister. 💔

    11. Crazy! I was just watching Donnie darko the night before she passed… RIP ❤️

Oh man this is so rough I loved her so much as the voice of Lilo in Lilo and Stitch may she rest in peace she’ll never be forgotten and my prayers go out to her and her family. Stitch will never forget you ❤️❤️❤️

I had sepsis when my appendix burst. It was crazy to go from fine to critically ill in a matter of days. Scary scary stuff. I’ll never forget the sepsis announcement over the hospital PA and the huge number of doctors and nurses who descended on my room.

    14. She had a rough last ~ decade. I’m so, so sorry to see this is how her story turned out. We need to remember stories like hers when talking about child stardom, it so often turns out this way. I hope she has peace now, and I wish peace to her family and loved ones.

She has so many iconic roles.

Child stars passing young make me feel so sad because first their childhood gets taken away from them and then their adulthood is cut short.

As an early Gen-Z, The Ring is a movie that means so much to me. From being scared shitless as a kid, to rewatching it in my teenage years, and reflecting on its cultural impact alongside the original Ringu as an adult. And Daveigh Chase as Samara was undoubtedly one of the reasons it became so iconic.

It’s the movie that made me anxious whenever our old family TV lost signal and went static, lmao.

Such a sad end…rest in peace.
