Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s spectacular new trailer has swung in, but if you were hoping to get confirmation of Sadie Sink’s mysterious MCU character, you’ll still be waiting as she doesn’t feature in the clip.

It’s long been rumoured that the Stranger Things star is playing iconic X-Men character Jean Grey in the upcoming movie. This certainly tallies with the new synopsis, revealing that the film will see Peter Parker (Tom Holland) face off with “a powerful villain no one can even see”.

We get some teasers of this in the trailer as a mysterious threat is able to freeze people and take over their minds. However, we don’t see their face in the preview.

The only person who is “immune” to the sinister power is Peter. He is also the only one “who can sense it” coming – so yet again, he’s New York City’s only hope.

It certainly sounds like the kind of powers Jean Grey would have, but maybe it’s all been a ruse. We only have just over a month to find out as Spider-Man: Brand New Day lands in UK cinemas on 29 July and in US cinemas on 31 July.

The new trailer also gives us more of Peter’s meeting with Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), where he’s trying to get help for his unwanted, newly developed powers. Peter might need them, though, for when Bruce Hulks out, seemingly due to Jean Grey or whoever the mysterious villain is.

Tickets are now on sale for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, although don’t expect screenings in IMAX in its opening weeks due to The Odyssey dominating those screens after releasing on 17 July.

To mark the arrival of the new trailer and the start of the press tour, the Spidey Tracker has been launched by Samsung. In the movie, Ned (Jacob Batalon) – who, if you remember, no longer knows that Peter is Spider-Man – uses a Samsung Galaxy device to track Spider-Man.

The real-life Spidey Tracker allows fans to do just that, too, following Spider-Man (aka Tom Holland) on the world tour for the movie, as well as unlock content and Easter eggs across 35 countries.
