Everyone’s crapping on this movie and like yea I get it…it looks a bit generic…however at least Disney is trying. Everything they’ve done has been such a flop lately and I’m just happy to see something, anything different. That still doesn’t excuse all the screwups…however it appears they are taking a step in the right direction.

Disney is trying to makeup for the fact that they only realized 'The Owl House' was popular after they had already cancelled it. Then, they tried to make a watered-down version to please the Christian soccer moms that complained about how demonic 'The Owl House' was.

i was really excited for the mother and son dynamic cause that’s not always in the big screen: its always father and son , mother and daughter – even father and daughter like Moana . but at least they get hailee to voice her

I think one of the things that bothers me is that it seems rushed. So she leaves her mother, and we get no glimpse into if the mother is ever notified. Because of this she shouldn't be having fun, or that excited to go to a new school if her mother has no clue if she's safe. Another issue is that the world looks too close to The Owl House. The character design is "unique" to a degree, though it looks to be an art style DreamWorks would make. Either way, I'm hoping the premise of the movie isn't "I have to go back home" Alice and wonderland, and wizard of Oz have already been there done that. It would be nice if the mc is reassured that the mother is notified that way she can continue her magical adventures without the nagging "I need to go home" or "what about her mother" isn't at the back of our minds. It would be even more interesting if the mother after being notified tries to find a way back to that magical land and we're given insight as to the Mc's background. More importantly, I wish disney would try to understand it's viewers more so that everything doesn't feel forced. "Oh her hair is different" in 2026 with gen z/Gen alpha kids doesn't cause alienation. And I'm so sick of the adorakble "look at me I'm so quirky" kind of vibe. It would be so much cooler seeing a dim eyed character, speaks monotone, gives off an intimidation vibe, and is a self choice loner. People TRY getting to know her, but she's detached and uninterested, and when she does give it a shot, her interests are completely different and odd to the people around her. "You know what I like to do? Not much, but I do enjoy practicing as an apothecary, so far I'm immune to 30 poisons, since I take small doses of these dangerous items every day, things that could kill you in an instant, I have a bug and snake collection, OH and I like to collect different kinds of dirt, rocks, I like to plant fun things like Venus fly traps, poison ivy and nightshade, a dangerous plant that could kill you in one bite and a few other stuff. Hey, this is my favorite band, they're called hellbent give it a listen," and then you just see disgusted and weirded out faces from her other classmates. You see sparks from her where she's no longer this boring, "you people annoy me, get away from me" kind of attitude but she lights up when she shares her interests only for people to shut her out. Who knows how that happens, how it all builds, but I think it would be fun. Imagine a character whose really pretty, people want to be her friend, but she's re-served, and pushes people away, so people form their own thoughts of her being conceited and stuff, only to hear more rumors that she's a complete freak and absolutely weird. I also like the idea of her being open to normal stuff, but her way, like going shopping , but the things she likes to buy are simply different, she likes to garden, but the things she plants are different, she loves music, but it's not the normal taste, I also love the idea of her being opened to trying new things, one day she tries dressing girly and likes it. She doesn't change herself to fit in, she grows as a person and learns she likes different things while still keeping to what she enjoys, so when she's expelled and gets into a new school we get to see more of her personality shine. She makes friends, enjoys the school, it's like her world is filled with color and THEN she's attacked by whatever villain they have (it better not be her from the future or whatever) also, she needs a flaw to overcome. I want that to be something they start doing in movies again. Show us more character growth AND development

like idk, but wouldn't it be super cool to see 1. an animation style more like frozen and pre frozen/2d times 2. Possibly a villain character who turns it around during a time of conflict, and they're conflicted about their place in their society- kinda like an outsider like quasimodo, but also the confliction of raven queen from ever after high? I feel like I'd love that character development more than adorkable characters, though they are nice.
