Yeah that whole “aw shucks” schtick ain’t going to work for him going forward. Guy is a disappointment.

    2. Fortuitous_Event on

He’s a middle aged white guy from Tennessee, I’m surprised that people are surprised.

    3. chicken_burger on

Why are there so many posts about Nate Bargatze at the UFC, while the media is oddly quiet about Shane Gillis being there (only a quick sentence while Nate gets the full headline)

    4. Hustlasaurus on

What a fucking idiot. He had so much plausible deniability but now is screwed. $20 says he makes a hard right turn and blames the woke left for it.

    5. It’s not surprising, he was surrounded by clowns during his entire childhood.

Only makes sense as an adult that he still wants to be surrounded by clowns.

    6. Maybe he’s one of those single issue conservatives that just really really liked the Greenland shit

    7. Pure_Choice_8459 on

He’s friends with sellout Bill Burr and Nate also did the Saudi gig with him so ….

    8. and here I thought he was a normal and decent guy. Sorry but you cannot support trump and be a decent person.

    9. Imagine being on the loser side that got it’s ass kicked by Iran and akes Americans have to pay Iran $348 BILLION!

Same as loser Confederate shites cheering on after they got their ass kicked.

    10. I guess he’s experiencing the FO portion of his career. Are these the same people that tell Democrat celebrities to “shut up and act” or “shut up and sing”?

Batgatze’s entire act is based around how stupid he is. This news should surprise nobody.

    12. He can make a living as a MAGA comic. The Indian casino circuit isn’t really picky about who performs, just as long as they get their cut.

    13. Nate Magatze.

Yeah, I’m disappointed. I was a fan. I paid to see his standup live.

    14. He’s gutless.

You own it Nate. History will judge you harshly and forever connect you with that vile comment about Michelle Obama made at that event.

You know that poetic line in the Simon & Garfunkel song Mrs. Robinson? “Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio, a nation turns its lonely eyes to you.” That captured our country’s longing for a hero with honor during the late 1960s. Well Nate, your silence speaks volumes. You missed the moment when your country needed you to stand up for courage, honor, and decency.

      You blew it.

    15. Not surprising. Honestly, I know very little about this guy, heard things over the years but had no interest. So the major thing I’ve been reading up on him about was his new film The Breadwinner. I saw the trailer for that and immediately thought “oh, this is regression to the 2000s films but in the worst possible way; it looks like someone didn’t learn a thing over the last twenty years on why films like this don’t work” so I naturally assumed this guy probably sucked.

Like, if you’re making a film on incompetent dads and making it seem like the most hilarious thing in the world, you probably aren’t going to be liberal. Like, these are lessons most liberals have learned BECAUSE of those 90s/2000s films depicting dads as incompetent and realizing that that shouldn’t be a lesson in a film.

So I guess that was just an early (or another?) sign that this guy wasn’t a liberal.

Of course he votes Republican. And most likely he’s probably not very political in general either. Is he really thinking deep into each party’s policies? Probably not. So the question is “why do non-political white people default to voting Republican?”

    17. Did…..did he think no one would see that pics of him being there? I’m so confused

    18. Steamedcarpet on

Im not one to pay attention to comedians unless my friend sends me a link to a stand up he likes. The first time I learned about this guy Nate was that trailer for his new movie “The Breadwinner”. Holy crap I hated that trailer “oh look it’s 2026 and men still cant handle the kids without the wife around!”

    19. He keeps saying that he doesnt do politics, and that he just enjoys life as it happens around him. But the life around him turns out to be stuff like this. Turns out he was just easing us into it.

That being said his movie is ok for a 7ish year old to understand what the past was like without having to explain what media was like back then. Plus I dropped a gummy like an hour before going in. I know my dad would have laughed at it, so I was able to enjoy it. Dont recommended it though.

I wonder how much of all that “non political” money he’s made from those “non political” Netflix shows have gone to “non political” causes.

    21. For all you Bargatze defenders out there, this isn’t about him going to a UFC match. This is about him going to the one put on that grifter Donny. He goes to a match in St Louis, nobody fucking cares. Read the room Nate.

    22. Pulp_Ficti0n on

He will still sell out every show. People on the Internet think negative comments on Instagram actually mean anything.

Same shit happened to Burr, he still tours and sells out everything.

    23. selfistfirst on

That’ll teach you to never expect a comedian to upholding social virtue signals! 🍺🤣

    24. Lol for what? Because he went to the ufc fight? Please tell me that’s not all this hysteria is about

    25. Hilarious to throw your career away for nothing, when one of your biggest mainstream hits was an SNL skit that at least implied you were aware of the problems with America.

Hope Trump makes you head of the EPA or some shit, moron. A lot of people are instantly done with you.

    26. Jealous_Parfait_4967 on

This made me so sad but then I remember that Mike Birbiglia is the funny one.

    27. friskevision on

I did standup for over ten years. There’s only a few comedians that are truly cream of the crop. Bargatze is one of them. He has been so solid in his standup, not to mention SNL.

As a former standup and fan of comedy, his setups, pacing, and delivery are amazing to watch.

You fucked up Nate. You had a good thing going. Now you’re going to be doing maga infested shows. Honestly, I bet his crowd won’t diminish.

But as for me, sorry bro, I’m out as a fan and admirer of your comedy.

    28. BadPumpkin87 on

Just like Jelly Roll and Shane Gillis, only idiots couldn’t see that they were all MAGA from day one. None of them are talented, just riding the wave of mediocre white men propped up by the right.

    29. Was on Netflix last night, was going to watch a comedy special. Went right past his. Won’t watch him any more.
The SNL skit won’t save him.

    30. ThisIsAllTheoretical on

A lot of his comedy revolves around how dumb he is. How is anyone surprised?

    31. “being exposed as MAGA” are you all actually that stupid and in a bubble that you didn’t already know he is on the right? OP’s headline reads as someone with their head up their ass. Omg guys did you know water is wet?!
