I think that the reason she did this to Colin is he probably pushed back and she didn't like not having complete control of her kids. Kate Gosselin has always been a control freak and Colin was not going to be controlled like she wanted him to be. That is why her marriage broke up Jon couldn't take it anymore and I don't blame him and I think Colin is a lot like his father and she couldn't stand it so she invented a reason to keep him away from any influence his father had.
She was never a true mother to him anyways
