      If anyone didn’t know the movie Bernthal is talking about: he worked with Polanski on a film called The Ghost Writer. It’s a political thriller about a ghost writer hired to finish the autobiography of a British prime minister who maybe has ties to terrorist organizations and whose previous ghost writer just tuned up dead. The rest of the cast is Ewan McGregor, Kim Cattrall, Pierce Brosnan, Olivia Williams, Tom Wilkinson, Timothy Hutton, and Jim Belushi.

      Is Polanski a great director? Yes. He’s made a ton of amazing and powerful films.

      Is Polanski a good human being? No. He’s gross and what he did is unforgivable.

      It’s ok to say someone has made incomparable contributions to art while denouncing their choices as a human being. I don’t get why people don’t just do both instead of choosing one or the other.
