Diplo is a weirdo, creep and predator and is actively looking for new ways to fund that lifestyle. I’m glad SZA is calling him out for this, because we need more artists that are actively calling out these kinds of behaviors.

I’m so *FUCKING* tired of AI evangelists saying, “It’s here, you can’t avoid it [that part’s true], so you better embrace it!” No, I’m not embracing shit.

She’s correct by sheer statistics alone, even setting aside Diplo. Black music has always been the dominant undercurrent of most popular genres. We saw country shift to a hip hop beat from (confidently) 23-Current. Pop radio for 30+ years has had hip hop on it in both influenced examples and just hip hop being on the radio. And now AI is being trained off history.
Broadly speaking, I think that’s the saddest thing to me about AI. We’re just handing over human *accomplishments* to machines. Humanity is beautiful despite our dark shadow. And AI is just creating a larger shadow.

Using AI to create art in any form should be banned. If it’s going to be used, limit it to thoughtless tasks such as running data to detect patterns etc. Generative AI is such soul sucking garbage. Anyway, good for SZA for speaking up.

Why is she saying there aren’t ‘white AI songs’ (or rather that she supposedly haven’t heard one)?
That is obviously not true, why would the AI bros not use white people’s music as training? They don’t care, they take it all.
Worked in dance music in my 20s. Diplo uses ghost producers (Djemba Djemba being one example), far as I know never produces his own work. I know someone who ran social media for his label Mad Decent and told me he had scans of Polaroid pics from parties that could get Diplo cancelled.
Not sure why he holds on to them. He’s currently running social media for Reba McIntire and Alan Jackson so you can see how these “people” follow the money. Have been tempted to dox him for holding onto evidence but don’t want to get banned
I love how anti ai sza is. Itd be so easy for her to capitalize on it and invest in ai companies but she consistently speaks out against them
