Those Epic Hobbit Horse Scenes Were Actually Just Green Screens and Imagination 😂

While filming The Hobbit (2012), the impressive elven horse-riding scenes weren’t quite as glamorous behind the scenes as they looked on screen.
Instead of riding real horses, the actors performed on green-screen rigs, bouncing and exaggerating their movements so the visual effects team could later create the illusion of realistic riding. It may have looked heroic in the final movie, but on set it probably looked completely ridiculous.
The funniest part? Orlando Bloom later joked about how unexpectedly enjoyable the experience was, proving that even seasoned actors can be surprised by what ends up being the most entertaining part of a shoot.
It’s a great reminder that movie magic often looks absolutely absurd before the CGI team works their magic.
