James McAvoy spotted filming in Glasgow Central Station
Passengers at Glasgow Central were left stunned this morning (Monday, June 22) to see Hollywood star James McAvoy filming scenes for an upcoming series in the busy station.
The Drumchapel-raised actor is understood to be filming for upcoming Sky crime drama and dark comedy Meantime, based on the novel by Frankie Boyle. Meantime tells the story of Felix McAveety (played by McAvoy), a drug addict and alcoholic whose life turns upside down when his best pal is found murdered in a Glasgow park.
The series is due to be released next year.

McAvoy has been spotted filming around the city for the project, including scenes outside Glasgow Royal Infirmary earlier this month. But the star has now left locals in the city centre in disbelief as he filmed with high-vis clad crews in Central Station.
A starstruck passenger told Glasgow Live: “I can’t believe it, I just walked off the train and they were filming at the gates, I recognised James straight away even with the wig. Not everyday you get to see a Hollywood film star on your commute.”

Videos of the station this morning show McAvoy in costume, including a long grey wig and grey suit, as he filmed scenes with his Meantime castmates.
Starring alongside McAvoy in the six-part series is Jamie Michie and Josette Simon, as well as Janine Harouni, Christopher Eccleston, Mark Bonnar, Shirley Henderson and more.
You can find out more about Meantime on the Sky website.
