Keke Palmer and Hot Ones host Sean Evans have been flirting on-camera for years, but it sounds like they might actually be doing something about it now. Earlier this month, DeuxMoi posted a photo of the pair having dinner together in Brooklyn, sparking romance rumors. On Tuesday, Palmer said cryptically that she and Evans are currently “hanging out.”
“Page Six” reported that Palmer was onstage at a Spotify panel during Cannes Lions when host Jay Shetty asked if she was “serious about Sean Evans.”
“Oh, we’re talking about this? First of all, I love Sean Evans. I love Sean. Hey, Sean! That’s my guy,” Palmer responded. “We’re hanging out.” The actress added that you “never know what could arise.”
“[We’re] just tak[ing] it day by day, one wing at a time, so to speak,” Palmer told Shetty. She missed the opportunity to say that they’re “winging it,” but I can forgive her.
Palmer and Evans have been locked in a public flirtation for a long time. She first appeared on Hot Ones in 2017, with her second appearance coming in 2021. In 2023, Evans told his sister in chicken-based interviews, Amelia Dimoldenberg, that Palmer was the one guest he’s had a crush on. “Very charming woman,” he said.
Last year, Palmer made her third appearance on Hot Ones and ended the interview by asking Evans for “a quick smooch to see if there’s a spark.” After their kiss, Palmer exclaimed, “The spark is sparking!” In May, Palmer and Evans continued to flirt for the cameras when he appeared on her podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer. She introduced him as a “potential future suitor.”
Here we are, a month later, and it sounds like Evans has been promoted to “current suitor.” May this serve as a lesson to all of us: Sometimes you really do just have to shoot your shot. It may take three years for it to go through, but that’s better than nothing!
