It would be incredibly funny if they just did all this as a diversion and they’re actually just getting married in their backyard or something.

    2. Maybe the answer is simple but how do these things become public? Like celebs booking hotel rooms, how does that get into public knowledge?

    3. Sounds like a big party. At least NY can handle the traffic, instead of shutting down an entire small European town.

they’re blocking streets in manhattan on the fourth of july… good god.

Not a New Yorker. Can private citizens really just shut down streets in NYC?

I think the rumor mill is saying there might be a private ceremony, but the reception is going be at MSG with 1,200 people (no plus ones).

    7. If true, this sounds like a huge inconvenience. It’s not as if MSG is in a quiet little suburb. Isn’t Penn Station nearby? Hopefully no one’s commute is disrupted. And what’s the city even going to be like during that weekend since it’s technically the start of a holiday. I feel like this story is fake, but I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Godspeed to anyone working in the logistics departments of NYC

    9. Is there a polymarket bet for them getting married on July 3rd and then her writing a song with lyrics like “the day before the 4th of July” or something because I might take those odds.

Hot take but I don’t think MSG is a weird venue for this 🤷‍♀️

It feels very weird that someone can attain status enough to shut down public streets for a personal event. Like wow, there isn’t a better example of class divide

YKW I kinda like the idea of their wedding taking away press and attention from the America 250 shit

It’s very funny to hear non New Yorkers’ getting seemingly more annoyed at this than actual residents lol. I dont know anyone around me who cares about the streets around MSG being closed for cars for a couple of days on a holiday weekend.
