> A24 Labs head Scott Belsky, who’s at the center of the DeepMind deal, was among the recently leaked names linked to Silicon Valley financier Peter Thiel’s invite-only club, Dialog.
Of course.
Peter Thiel is going around giving serious talks about the anti-christ like some kind of nutjob, yet he’s still able to build a huge following of massively influential people.
A24 isn’t the indie darling it once was, and they’re increasingly becoming like a major studio. Where once, an artist would do anything to have their film picked up by A24, you now have people like Curry Barker (Obsession director and writer) passing on their offer to acquire the movie and going with other studios.
Aren’t they really just a private equity company?
