His football club, C.S. Marítimo de La Guaira, confirmed the heartbreaking news on Instagram, sharing prayers for the family and a message of support for the soccer player. Trejo, who had been in Caracas for a training camp when the earthquakes hit, rushed back to La Guaira, one of the areas hardest hit by the disaster. His brother-in-law later described the scene as “horrific”, telling CNN Español little remained of the family’s building.
