Tom Holland is eager to take a page out of the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie, and have his Peter Parker mentor Miles Morales in the MCU – even if Holland doesn’t play Peter B. Parker.
In an interview with HobbyConsolas discussing the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day film, Holland opened up about the future he hopes is in the cards for Peter Parker in the MCU. “I know I have aspirations to bring Miles Morales into the universe, however that works out. We’ve got a lot of work to do to bring that to life. But yeah… I feel incredibly grateful for the way I was introduced into this world and that I was shepherded by [Robert Downey Jr.] and I would kind of love to return that favor to the next generation of people that get that luxury of making these movies,” Holland said.
As you might know, the rights to all Spider-Man characters are owned by Sony Pictures, not Marvel Studios/Disney, which is why all of the MCU’s Spider-Man films are co-productions with Sony’s Columbia Pictures. So as you might imagine, bringing Miles Morales into the MCU is easier said than done, which Holland gestures at by saying, “We’ve got a lot of work to do to bring that to life.” And let’s also remember that Sony Pictures Animation still has Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse in the pipeline, which is due to be released next summer.
In the meantime, Holland’s next Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will be hitting theaters on July 31, 2026. Picking up from the events of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker no longer has any non-superpowered friends on Earth, with his girlfriend, MJ, and best friend, Ned, having forgotten who he was. Sounds like a solid launch point for laying down the foundations for a new Spider-Man to swing into the MCU, eh? We’ll have to watch and see.
