I LOVE this side of Ron! Blake is a piece of work man. She does her best to ruin Justin Baldoni who is a straightforward good man – then she pulls this garbage. Her & Ryan need to be blacklisted by Hollywood.

It's not even that they weren't detailed about fees. They openly declared that they are asking for fees related to Blake's case against Justin and somehow saying discovery in her case is related to his case, which never made it to discovery. They are lumping Ryan's fees for defending against the defamation cause and everything into this and basically telling Liman that they know he only asked for fees related to defamation, but they know better because they spent a lot of time researching 47.1, and its lack of history and nothing to research, and Justin owes them fees for that, too. If I were the judge, I'd be incredulous! I'd refuse to accept this filing, and tell them they had their chance, and they chose to do this. They get nothing!
Yeah right. How many hours of AI did they utilize for 144 days. We want to see! 8M is 55-60K/day if you calculate weekends.
Working in the legal field 15 years, billing my time and filing motions for fees he is correct. We have to attach the billing that has the amount of time spent, the rate and what was done (in detail) and a judge can strike anything that’s not reasonable. I’m also pretty sure you have to file an affidavit of reasonable fees where a lawyer from another unrelated firm signs attesting to the fees being reasonable. There’s no way those rates are. I’m in Florida (Tampa) like you Andy, but I doubt California is that crazy

If the judge is NOT pissed about the outrageous BS these lawyers had the audacity to present to the court, I have lost all confidence in that judge.
Why can’t the judge tell her she has nothing.
I doubt it will happen, but my wish is Liman awards her $1. If he awards her zero she will engage in another "thrown out on a technicality" media spin. If he awards her $1 if will be obvious she burned another bridge to the ground.
This isn’t fair to WF to waste their allotted time not being able to review actual receipts. WF needs to send a stern filing to the judge about this and until that is provided, their time should be extended to respond. Also, BL’s side should not be able to charge for anymore wasted time.
This is our justice system in complete failure.

Baldoni deserves this nightmare for being weak in the first place. He couldn’t press for 2 more weeks in May 2026? Get slapped with gotlieb’s fees! At least he would have dragged her lying ass all over the internet if he had her on the testifying stand. Then MAYBE it’s wouldn’t feel so outrageous the ask of these fees!
Also the 47.1 law is trash. The first application shows how you can abuse it. It’s a joke, and the woman who authored it is a joke herself. This needs to be opposed in all states and revised in all states where this pos law was passed.
I’m not so confident with it being Lively’s burden. Lively had no burden to prove “without malice” either, based on the judges whim. Couldn’t he just pull the same here?
