      Well yeah it was a PR comeback. Probably did good numbers but there was almost no way she was going to win.

      First win since January against a player she would’ve grown up watching! Virtually no reality where a 20 y.o would ever get to play professionally against a 40+ yo

      She played great as did Maya. There were multiple points where Serena could have taken the match but her match rust (after 4 years of not playing a singles match) likely got the better of her.

      Maya also had nerves yet her consistent training and match play pulled her through.

      I don’t understand why GLP-1 is so controversial on here, some people with ED’s abusing them doesn’t mean there isn’t a ton of people who would and do benefit from them because being overweight for a long time and struggling with dropping the weight – losing it helps with decreasing the risk for diabetes, heart disease, and many other health problems.

      Serena Williams is a tennis legend and this was about her. If she was a guy this whole thread wouldn’t be talking about some advertisement from nearly a year ago or her *husband’s* very mild controversy from 2 weeks ago.

      Avid tennis fan, Maya Joint and Serena Williams BOTH did not play well lol, it was honestly hard to watch. Also note that when most people come back from a break they play smaller tournaments and build to a grand slam. Serena played one doubles match at queens then said alright back to Wimbledon I go lol.

      Wimbledon gave her a wild card and let her play center court and she refused to do press after she lost. I find that kind of lame but not uncharacteristic of Serena lol. I am a huge Serena fan and I think she would’ve done much better round 1 with more matches before the big grand slam comeback.

      interesting. this was playing at the gym today and i watched the beginning of the match when i was working out and the live commentary was all absolutely certain that serena would mop the floor with joint
