* Weeks after Collin Gosselin shared he was releasing his memoir *In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood*, he alleged that his mother, Kate Gosselin, used to seek divine intervention to stop herself from abusing him.
* “Never forget that my mom would write in her diary how she had to ‘pray to God to stop hitting me,’” Collin wrote in a since-expired Instagram Story. “(This was while I was 2 years old by the way.)”
* And the 22-year-old noted, “This is why using my voice to put these things in the light is so important.”
* For her part, Kate has continued to shut down her son’s allegations on her own social media, with the 51-year-old recently confirming she has blocked comments about it on her own social media.
* “This page is about my real life,” Kate wrote in the comments section of a June 30 TikTok, “and it’s all about kindness, love, honesty and definitely not for made up accusation discussion!”

Kate Gosselin has been abusive since day one Their show was hard to watch because of the constant bickering and nagging from her. It’s unfortunate to know that those kids endured her, but it’s great to see her have to chew on the consequences.

My heart just breaks for this kid. Regardless of the severity of what she and her ex-husband did to this child and the rest of them, it clearly was enough to alter him forever as a person. I hope his siblings will reconcile with him.
Get rid of extra embryos for real. If they could have afforded a couple of kids instead of having eight maybe, just maybe, some of this could have been avoided.

I don’t see people believing Kate and not just for the fact that she created the Karen haircut.
Or at least that’s how I remember it. 😹

I often wondered what was going to be said of this family once the kids became adults.

The whole situation was disturbing, anyone who couldn’t see that was willfully blind.
Kate running around exploiting the kids while John was being browbeaten despite his obvious disdain for what was happening.
The whole scene was gross.

Here’s the thing for me. Even if he’s exagerating or outright lying… where do you think he got that idea?
And, of course, nothing in this chick’s “career” has ever shown her to be a good or kind mother to begin with. So, you know, it’s not hard ot believe the accusations.
But, yeah, even if they were all lies, I’d still side with the kid on this one.

Dear God. Can you make me not a shit person? Because it’s too much effort for me to do something as simple as not abusing my child. Thanks. Also could you send me more money for Karen haircuts? Ty byeee.

I’m a fellow survivor of childhood sibling sexual assault and parental abuse/neglect at the hands of extremely pious and narcissistic parents. I broke all contact 3 years ago and still struggle with my decision, as it impacts my 3 kids greatly. Reading this reaffirms my commitment to keep my children safer than I was kept, and I’m glad he’s getting a chance to speak out- it’s a constant temptation to try to right the wrongs and let the world know the truth, ESPECIALLY when the abusers are otherwise held in high esteem. I’m interested to watch this play out with vested interests, but boy, reading that really upped my pulse, I’ve still got a lot of healing to do!
