RIYADH: A new documentary outlines the behind-the-scenes efforts to clear the way for the Sports Boulevard megaproject in Riyadh.
Available to stream free of charge on MBC’s Shahid platform, Sports Boulevard documents developers’ efforts to clear power lines and build the sporting infrastructure.
The documentary provides insight on the depth of the endeavors required to achieve one of Vision 2030’s ambitious projects.
Due to the project’s size, Sports Boulevard’s transformation has affected many aspects of Riyadh, ranging from the iconic skyline to an emphasis on sustainable living spaces.
Sports Boulevard features several sub-projects: Wadi Hanifah, Promenade, Urban Wadi, Entertainment Destination, Athletics Destination, Wadi Al Sulai, Eco Destination, Sands Sports Park and the Princess Nourah University Internal Cycling Loop.
Many of these facilities are already open and accessible to the public, while others are still in the works.
The entire project, which extends more than 135km, is expected to be completed by 2030.
The documentary gives viewers an insight of what it takes to introduce a grand space that will be home to many sports, trails and investment zones.
