Who says you can’t reinvent yourself in your 70s? On the occasion of her 77th birthday, Vera Wang had a surprise up her sleeve in the form of a dramatic new hairstyle. A series of Instagram posts on Tuesday suggest that the lauded bridal designer has swapped her signature long raven blunt cut for a honey-colored lob. The Vera Wang, a blonde? I’m into it.
Wang celebrated her birthday, which was on June 27, with a lavish dinner surrounded by friends and family in Paris. Dressed in an all-white, ruched halter gown, she posed in the hallways of the Plaza Athénée, blew out her candles on a cake piped with the number 77, and received a cappuccino with her face on it.
The captions of her series of ecstatic posts ranged from “JUST DOWN THE HALL !!! B’DAY TIME !!!🎂🥳🎉❤️” to “When the PLAZA ATHÉNÉE serves you your coffee at a business meeting on your birthday! ……,, THANK YOU for such a truly lovely surprise! 😌🙏👏👏👏👏👏🎂☕️👏🌹🇫🇷♥️”
All caps and a string of emojis? I’m going to guess she was feeling the love. Happy birthday, Vera!
