Didn’t he abandon his state when a historic blizzard hit Texas?

    2. AnarchicTerrorForce on

How many deaths happened while the power grid went down in Texas and Ted Cruz fled to party in Cancun?

    3. In a first world country, you dont fly to Mexico while your constituents freeze to death.

      Oh wait, Ted Cruz does.

Why don’t they turn off all the electronic billboards in time square?

    5. __Banana_Hammock__ on

Funny coming from the guy who flies to Cancun or California every time there’s a little bit of bad weather in Texas

    6. BewareOfGrom on

I’m one of Ted’s constituents and my power goes out everytime the sky farts.

      Fuck you Ted

    7. You know Ted leaves his AC blasting and heating on in the winter when he flees the state for warmer weather

    8. retroanduwu24 on

I doubt any politician in America is sitting in a near 80 degree home right now, they are all probably running it on 65.

    9. A Texas Senator is the last person to talk about standards for the energy infrastructure of a first world country.

Isn’t that the state that routinely falls into chaos whenever it gets a little chilly?

People from states without competent and reliable electrical grids need not comment

    11. CartridgeFrog on

Didn’t the Texas power grid fail like a couple years and instead of helping in any way at all he went on vacation?

    12. I’m in Ohio but our AC isn’t even getting below 77 right now until the sun starts to go down. Our living room faces west and that wall is all glass, so when the sun hits it oooooh, it gets spicy in weather like this even though we have blinds closed and heat reflecting stuff up!! We also just have an old AC unit lol.

I’m sorry does he think we still live in a first-world country here in the US???

There are some moments where “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” or city in this case is important. Mamdani sure has being doing everything he can to figure out what the city can do for its people.

    15. My first summer in Texas, I got daily texts telling me that the grid was at capacity and urged me to reduce my energy usage bc if the grid did hit capacity, the entire grid would shut down. You’re more useful when you’re not in the country, Ted. Go live somewhere else.

As someone who runs hot, 78 fucking sucks no matter which state I’m in

    17. I remember living in Dallas and seeing pictures of Ted Cruz fleeing Texas for Mexico during Snowpocalypse 2021.

      Go to Hell, Ted. Quickly.

Ah yes, Texas, the home of ERCOT, famously unable to provide power in both high and low temperatures. STFU Ted, unfuck your own state before you open your own mouth. You’ve got no room to talk when there are multiple examples per year nowadays of your state’s fucked up mess. The Lone Star State nickname is actually a rating these days.

“This thermostat setting is not that far from…” It’s not *any* distance “from.” It’s exactly the same.

    20. Oh SHUT UP CRUZ.

Native Texan here – I genuinely have zerrrrrroooooo idea why anyone wants this guy in office and moreso whoever voted for him after the big storm we had in 2021. We get alerts all the time to conserve our energy during summer and winter.

    21. Select_Insurance2000 on

An in TX. Set AC at 78 in summer, and 68 in winter.

      It works for me.

Use ceiling fans if you have them to help circulate the air.

    22. SchoolIguana on

Hey motherfucker, our system BROKE for a week and people froze and died in our homes while your bitch ass ran to Cancun.

      Fuck Ted Cruz.

    23. Ted’s right. He never had to worry about the air conditioning at the 5 star resort he flees to in Cancun.

    24. beemonsterrr on

I live in Texas, we frequently have controlled blackouts during summer and winter because the power grid can’t handle it. We get text all the time saying if you don’t conserve energy we will have to cut the power.

    25. ComprehensiveHand232 on

Texas has black/brown outs all the time. It’s known to be the worst in the nation.

    26. Majestic-Weekend-435 on

I live in Texas, a couple years ago if you had a smart AC thermometer in your home they could adjust your temperature without your consent to preserve power ON TOP OF them asking us in general to reduce power

Oh no!!! Here comes Taylor Swift’s GIGANTIC ARENA EXTRAVAGANZA to take down the city grid 💥

    28. DeepSpaceVixen on

So Rafael is admitting we’re not a first-world country? Because last I heard, NYC is not a country.
