The signature style that sets Princess Alexia apart from her sisters:

Princess Alexia has cultivated a distinctly personal style that embraces the latest trends while increasingly distancing itself from the more classic fashion choices of her sisters, Princess Amalia and Princess Ariane.

A perfect example came during the Dutch royal family’s annual summer photo session on May 21, 2026, at Clingendael Park in The Hague.

While Queen Máxima, Amalia, and Ariane all opted for tailored trousers, Alexia stood out in a green dress by Reiss. She elevated the look with a striking brown leather obi belt from Spanish retailer Mango, coordinating it with a borrowed clutch from her mother’s wardrobe and suede boots by Gianvito Rossi.

Queen Máxima’s influence on Alexia’s wardrobe:

Many of Alexia’s most memorable fashion moments have featured pieces borrowed directly from Queen Máxima’s extensive wardrobe.

One of her most talked-about appearances came during Prinsjesdag (Prince’s Day) in September 2024, when she wore one of her mother’s dramatic red evening gowns.

The elegant design featured a flattering V-neckline, a textured bodice, delicate pleating at the waist, flowing chiffon fabric, long sleeves, and a floor-length skirt. Alexia completed the royal look with cream leather gloves, a matching clutch, and coordinating block-heel sandals.

    Prince’s Day looks:

Prince’s Day has become the event where Alexia showcases some of her most sophisticated looks.

She first wore a full-length gown for the occasion in 2023 before borrowing Queen Máxima’s iconic red dress the following year. By 2025, however, she had fully established her own style identity.

The color Alexia wears again and again:

Among all the shades in her wardrobe, one stands above the rest, green.

During the Dutch royal family’s traditional summer photo session on June 30, 2025, Alexia once again chose a dress instead of trousers, differentiating herself from her sisters. She wore a green COS dress styled with new Zara espadrilles and a woven raffia handbag by IBELIV.

Her edgiest look came courtesy of Massimo Dutti:

During King’s Day celebrations on April 26, 2025, Alexia proved she can effortlessly combine contemporary trends with timeless staples.

She wore a Bardot-neck knit top and a pleated midi skirt, both by Maje, layered under a black faux-leather jacket from Massimo Dutti. Burgundy accessories completed the outfit, including a Delvaux clutch borrowed from Queen Máxima and glossy patent leather Mary Jane heels by Sézane.

Borrowing from Queen Máxima and embracing Spanish fashion:

For the Dutch royal family’s traditional winter photo call on November 29, 2024, Princess Alexia debuted a practical black wrap coat from Zara.

She also wore a new pleated plaid skirt from the Spanish retailer, pairing both pieces with a Valentino blouse originally worn by Queen Máxima in 2006. She finished the outfit with her mother’s brown Gianvito Rossi boots.

A tribute to Queen Máxima during her first solo royal engagement:

Princess Alexia demonstrated her ability to balance royal elegance with youthful style during her first official solo engagement in September 2023.

For the milestone appearance, she chose an Oscar de la Renta dress from Queen Máxima’s wardrobe, styling it with a white shoulder bag and matching sandals.

A vibrant look that reflected her growing confidence:

During the Netherlands’ 2022 King’s Day celebrations, Princess Alexia showcased an increasingly confident and experimental approach to dressing.

She wore a vibrant green suit by Tara Jarmon layered over a psychedelic-print top from the same brand. She accessorized with a pink Natan handbag borrowed from Queen Máxima and nude sandals, proving she was already developing the bold style that now distinguishes her from her sisters.

Matching her sisters as a child:

As a young princess, Alexia frequently coordinated her outfits with sisters Amalia and Ariane before developing the distinctive fashion identity she is known for today.

During the coronation of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, the three princesses all wore matching blue dresses by Belgian fashion house Natan, marking one of their earliest coordinated royal fashion moments.
