I was at church with my mom once, downstairs in the meeting hall after mass, and my mom was talking to her friends like usual when a woman came bolting around the corner full speed yelling her name. It was her childhood best friend from Poland. Not only had they not seen each other for decades, they somehow accidentally met in Canada so many years later ❤️
Went with my dad once on a trip to Texas to visit fort hood and go Christmas shopping way back when I was a kid. Took a pit stop at a restaurant not far outside the base and he ran into someone he actually cried and hugged saying he hasn’t seen since like 95 and his first combat deployment. Didn’t really understand what it meant until much later and I had a moment like that myself with a buddy who lost a leg to an IED and the last time I saw him was them carrying him out in a Blackhawk. That type of friendship is something that transcends even family bonds
My 86-year-old dad was in the army, the last 10 years of his life he connected with some of his old army buddies through the Internet and they would talk on the phone and laugh for hours. They sent him an old picture of the four of them, young guys in their uniforms and he had it on his desk till he died.
Thw other day I'm going to the store with my Dad and it's just a normal day and he just casually says "That guy was my childhood enemy" and pointed to the guy that lives down the street from us, and they hadn't seen eachother since highschool, I don't understand how he knew.

Something incredible happens between soldiers. When they get separated, time is of no use cause once they get back together, it is as if time stopped at their last goodbye and they carry on like nothing happened.
