🎥: Midnight Mass.
I recently finished this show after seeing it being recommended heavily on various subs and I gotta say, I instantly regretted not having watched it much, much earlier. Simply top-notch writing. Mike Flanagan is one of the GOATs of modern horror for me. The way he tends to blend horror with themes of guilt, faith, grief and has his characters questioning everything… TOO good! And kept me thoroughly hooked until the very end.
What are your picks for great shows with only one season? Doesn’t matter if they’re limited series like this one or if they got cancelled.

My So-Called Life
Giri/Haji on Netflix is a great crime thriller. A fantastic cast and story that jumps between the UK and Japan.
Soulmates
The Night Of. Riz Ahmed and John Turturro are so insanely good in it
The Brothers Sun. It’s funny, it’s full of action, and it also deals with some tough themes about family. It’s about a young man who learns his family are gangsters. His (extremely attractive) brother is an brutal assassin who likes to bake and his mother is easily the most badass character on the show. She’s also played by Michelle Yeoh. It was cancelled after one season, but it kind of wraps itself up by the end of the season. It’s not a cliffhanger, but there was room for more and I’m so disappointed that there’s only one season.
Firefly
Inside Job. It says it is two seasons, but apparently it was just one season broken up into two parts.
i’m still upset about yuri on ice, i don’t care how long it’s been
the intro came up on my spotify shuffle the other day and it still goes so hard
Awake with Jason Isaacs was interesting.
Watchmen
Lights Out, with Holt McCallany and Catherine McCormack.
Oh I loved Midnight Mass. I watched his take on The Fall of the House of Usher and knew I wanted to watch more of his work. But I wasn’t prepared for deep and thoughtful Midnight Mass ended up being!
Freaks and Geeks 😠deserved so much more
my lady jane
Lovecraft Country and Watchmen.
HBO really dropped the ball on both of those shows.
I still think it’s really amusing that I got spoiled for Watchman because my favorite musical is Oklahoma.
I really enjoyed The Dresden Files
The Dark crystal
Westworld (/s)
Station Eleven, by a mile. It changed me.
Invasion
KAOS on Netflix. Jeff Goldblum as Zeus?! Loved! It was a great modernization of Greek Mythology with so much to explore.
Love me some firefly
The penguin
The Queens Gambit
Maid
I guess these are mini series but sometimes they get a 2nd season
“The Family” on ABC, that ending was epic!
Dead Boy Detective agency
1899.
The Prisoner (original series)
Wonderfalls
Band of Brothers
Zach stone is gonna be famous is such a simple premise executed well on a channel that ended up dying bc it literally became what Bo Burnham was parodying years before.
Years and Years. Absolute masterpiece and equally horrifying.
Mare of east town.
Fleabag (I’ll consider this as miniseries)

Midnight Mass is my favorite horror thing! Interesting themes, inventive twist on an old type of horror story, great characters, several scenes that are just absolute gut punches. I yap about it all the time lol.Â
Wonderfalls. At least they knew it was coming so they wrapped it all up in a microcosm of joy.
His Haunting of Hill House is one of my favourite shows ever, I rewatch it every year.
I also love Band of Brothers
Chernobyl. Hands down.
The Society on Netflix
