Dozens of celebrities attended Taylor Swift’s wedding, but there’s one who’s stirred the most conversation.

A source told The Daily Mail that Lena Dunham divided Taylor and Travis Kelce’s wedding guests at their rehearsal dinner on July 2 with a controversial speech in which she remarked that “American football is just straight guys reenacting gay porn.” Travis plays as the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, while many of his fellow NFL players and colleagues, including his brother Jason Kelce and coach Andy Reid, attended his and Taylor’s wedding.

The insider claimed that, while there were “lots of speeches,” Lena became one of the biggest talking points of the night, as her jokes drew a “divided” response from guests who responded with a combination of “gasps and laughs.” According to the source, however, Taylor was on her friend’s side of the joke, claiming that she called Lena a “genius” after her speech.

Taylor and Lena have been close friends for more than a decade, with Taylor even serving as a bridesmaid at Lena’s wedding to musician Luis Felber in 2021. Also at the rehearsal dinner and wedding was Lena’s ex-boyfriend, Jack Antonoff, whom she dated from 2012 to 2017. Antonoff is now married to actress Margaret Qualley.

As for other drama, The Daily Mail reported that a household-name celebrity had asked for an invitation to the wedding, only to be rejected. Another A-lister who wasn’t present was Taylor’s former best friend, Blake Lively, with whom she had a famous falling out over Blake’s public lawsuit with her It Ends With Us director, Justin Baldoni.

Taylor and Travis married at Madison Square Garden in the neighborhood of Midtown Manhattan in New York City on July 3, 2026. The venue announced the news on the jumbotron outside the arena with the text, “JUST&T MARRIED!” Taylor and Travis’ looks were by Christian Dior Haute Couture and designed by Jonathan Anderson. They both didn’t have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Taylor’s brother, Austin, was her Man of Honor, while Travis’ brother, Jason, was his Best Man. Taylor wore Christian Louboutin shoes and accessorized with Cartier jewelry.
