PC Darren Pearson has completed 25 years of dedicated service with the Wells Neighbourhood Policing Team in Somerset – the very town where the comedy film Hot Fuzz was filmed. His son Callum, also a PC Pearson, joined him on his final patrol in a touching send-off that echoes the famous movie’s storyline.

A real-life father and son policing duo have completed their final shift together in the very town that inspired the cult classic Hot Fuzz.

PC Darren Pearson concluded his 25-year career working alongside his son Callum – who also serves as PC Pearson – in Wells, the Somerset town where Simon Pegg’s beloved comedy was filmed.

The 2007 hit featured Jim Broadbent and Nick Frost portraying a father and son police partnership, mirroring the Pearsons’ own story.

The elder PC Pearson, a long-serving member of Wells Neighbourhood Policing Team, leaves behind what colleagues describe as a “meaningful” legacy.

His team say he made a “real difference” across the Somerset area, with the patrol giving the family a public send-off in Wells.

Mendip Neighbourhood Policing shared an image of the duo standing side by side, writing: “I’m PC Pearson and so is he!”.

The post continued: “Today we’re proud to see a very special father and son team out on patrol together in Wells.

“As one chapter comes to a close, another continues – with Dad hanging up his uniform tomorrow after 25 years of dedicated service to our communities, and his son carrying on the family tradition.

“Today marks the final tour of duty for PC Darren Pearson who has made a real difference across the area.

“Having his son alongside him on patrol makes the day all the more meaningful.”
