All of these powerful women giving a single fuck about the male gaze’s interpretation of menopause. More please!

This topic shouldn’t be punk, but we all know it is. Wish this was a nationwide tour!! Hormones ARE healthcare, and we need the system to step up and provide programs to support peri and menopausal women, full stop.

I’m 51 and no signs of even perimenopause. It’s depressing because for me, it is a monthly reminder that I never had my own child and will never have one. I can’t wait for it to be over… come on, menopause! Sorry for the whinge, I just needed to vent anonymously.

Look I’m literally of this age, so I’m in the thick of it. While I’m glad it’s becoming a more normal part of the vernacular, so it can be discussed more openly and we can take back some power from this experience…at the same time, I am so sick of talking about it. And I don’t want my impending lack or eventual total lack of periods to be my whole ass identity.
I suppose this isn’t the perfect example of the overexposure because yay for these badasses but my feed is absolutely filled with people talking about and selling me peri/menopause shit. I need balance.
