Charlize Theron’s The Odyssey London premiere after-party look felt like the redemption this Givenchy design deserved.

Swapping the black version for a custom red interpretation of Sarah Burton’s Givenchy Fall 2026 draped velvet gown made all the difference.
The black leather Bonbon gloves – complete with the divisive puffed sleeves, or arm warmers as I tend to call them – still aren’t my favourite styling choice, but under the cover of night they blended into the background instead of stealing focus from the dress.

Even so, I still think the gloves were unnecessary.

What really deserved the attention was the dramatic bow-spine detail cascading down the open back. It was every bit as striking on the black version, but the stark white gloves distracted me from it completely. Here, the back of the dress finally gets the moment it deserves.
Charlize completed the look with the same Desert diamond earrings from London jewellery house Glenn Spiro.
