Prince Harry, Elton John & More Lose Privacy Lawsuit | E! News

A British judge ruled against Prince Harry and more celebrities in a July 7 decision regarding a lawsuit accusing the Daily Mail’s publisher Associated Newspapers of unlawful information gathering. “Associated Newspapers welcomes today’s judgement, which is an overwhelming victory for the Daily Mail and its journalists, and for a free press generally,” a spokesperson for Associated Newspapers said in a July 7 statement to E! News. “This is a magnificent vindication of the Daily Mail’s journalism.” Following the court’s decision, Harry and fellow plaintiff Doreen Lawrence expressed disappointment in the ruling in a lengthy statement and argued their perspective was not treated the same as the Daily Mail’s defense. “While the Claimants presented evidence, Mail journalists simply gave denials, and the Court chose uncritically to believe them,” part of their statement read. “We presented to the Court evidence which we believed was compelling at the time and remains so now. We would like to thank our legal team for all their hard work and all the witnesses who were brave enough to come forward in the pursuit of justice.” Full Story: https://www.eonline.com/videos/2505865283878/prince-harry-elton-john-and-more-lose-s50-million-in-legal-fees-after-privacy-lawsuit-loss

    1. Harry was seeing completely different companies that admitted wro g doing and they brought evidence. This time Harry and the others did not bring evidence, so they lost. Plain and simple.

    2. I feel sorry for Baroness Lawrence who was convinced by Harry & other celebs to join their "case". Looks like the Daily Mail slayed some dragons, all 97 claims were dismissed!

    3. Oh Waauugh. Womp womp. He just figured that they'd cave in to being censored. His wife was praying for another settlement just like they scored from Meta. Yeah, not so fast Rachel. Just because a precedent was set in the two previous court cases doesn't mean you're going to win every one of them. In the UK each case is judged based on its own merit. This isn't the US and your ducharse title didn't give you a win this time. I know all about your litigation plans and how you expect the press to pay for your lifestyle. Now you and your husband owe £50 million plus. Guess that $100 million from Netflix just went out the window eh?

    4. The judge said "I believe this happened because…" Was not evidence. Does anyone believe that everyone around Harry kept his secrets and no waitress, hotel employee, bar tender, etc, never called the paper?
