Mariska Hargitay to Host Emmys 2026, the First Woman to Emcee in 15 Years | E! News

Mariska Hargitay was tapped as the host for the 2026 Emmys, airing on NBC and Peacock Sept. 14. The ‘Law & Order: SVU’ star is the first woman to take on the role in 15 years, following Jane Lynch. The television icon—who won the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the 2006 ceremony for her role as Olivia Benson—said in the announcement, “Bringing important stories into the light has been the heartbeat of my career.
