Didnt he or his brother talk shit about Louis who was a open fan of them. I think they met and his tune changed because Louis is a good lad

I know that Reddit is mostly North Americans but Football, especially international football, is incredibly important to England and many other countries. It’s like how popular hockey is up here in Canada. During the 2010, 2014, and 2018 olympics where I went to school would have events and stuff on the boards basically all day, especially the Hockey and Curling. I had a teacher that was English and I can’t remember if it was the Euros or the World Cup cause it’s just not set as much in my mind and hockey, but when she had a class during an England match she would say we’d do the class work another time and that the match was on.

We all know Louis stans have little to no standards when it comes to his performances so if they had a good time, love that for them.

I’m inclined to agree with Liam here. Are the fans mad? That’s all that really matters I think

It was pretty wild to see all the comments by people who were angry about something that had nothing to do with them directly, and especially from people who admitted that they didn’t like his music in the first place.

“If I bought a ticket I’d be so angry!” – no you wouldn’t, because you never would have cared to go anyway!

I’m not a a Louis fan or a 1D fan, but I know how stupid important football is so I really can’t even be mad lol

Sorry, no one is thinking rationally when your country is playing the world cup.

i will say, if you’re a Louis Tomlinson fan, you’d know he was a huge footy fan- like huge. this was quite on brand for him lol. not excusing it, since it upset people.

I used to be an avid football watcher for a few years, before I gave up because all the rampant racism, misogyny and homophobia was getting to me. The one thing I took away from it was, that it’s truly like a religion to men. It shapes their whole lives. They schedule entire days, weeks, months and years around when the football is on. And the football is always is on. It never stops.

As a Brit I get it but if you paid (probably) through the teeth for tickets to a gig and the dude was just watching the footy most of the time, You would be a bit annoyed and rightfully so. This would be like a stage play stopping because the lead wants to watch the match : /

    12. i know i would have a match on if my team was playing at my own wedding. i think this is just a cultural issue

I guess the lesson here is to not buy tickets for gigs by certain artists if said gigs coincide with a football match.

    14. Louis Tomlinson absolutely loves his football so this completely tracks, he played to a good standard when he was younger too (I think for Doncaster).

A couple of years ago, I was at Glastonbury and the Euros were on. England were playing Slovakia on the Thursday and we were like half watching the match on phones until we heard someone had a TV set up near a stage. We headed over to a big crowd and enjoyed the game for a bit before we moved on to see some more music.

The person who brought the TV for everyone to watch: Louis Tomlinson. He was just there chatting to everyone watching the match, was a great memory.

I think it’s really sweet he did this and tbh had I been there, I would’ve really appreciated it lol.

Liam Gallagher is the only reason I still have X/Twitter and to be honest, worth it. His quips and good natured trolling crack me up.

Imagine a woman did what these two idiots think is okay. It’s so unprofessional to pay to see someone live and they give most of their attention to a football game.

      His fans are deluded.

Remember when the Killers were touring over here and played the crucial England game at whatever the last tournament was, showed the winning goal, live (happened to be the end of the match), waited for the crowd to nearly stop going mental and then immediately segued into Mr Brightside? That was SO COOL

    18. I think Louis has experienced enough personal loss to do whatever the fuck brings him joy for the rest of his life

    19. If I paid for a concert and the artist took breaks in between songs to commentate on sports I would be so down for that. Like what a unique experience

I forgave Liam everything when he started adopting dogs from Thailand

Parasocial activity. I like bros music. Written all over your face slaps. If he was performing in my country and I paid money to see it I’d be big mad if he wasn’t focused on the performance.
I’ve seen several people say “oh if you were a fan you’d know he’s super into football.” Like???? Do y’all not notice how weird that is? I’m a fan of his music, not obsessed with him as a person.
