Erling Haaland is the hottest ticket in town. Whether it is because he sits just behind Lionel Messi in the World Cup goalscoring charts with seven, or for his human side when joking around with the child mascots in the tunnel before matches at the tournament, the Norway striker is emerging as the biggest draw of the summer.
He has been invited to be a guest on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, a sure sign of his popularity in the United States, but the logistics of trying to help his country win the World Cup will probably rule that out.

Haaland in his celebrity era. Before WC I would expect Lamine Yamal to gain more influence but Haaland is just way too entertaining.

dude is extremely talented and likeable but I’m cynical enough to think that the international pr push for the Norwegian team is useful to the disgraced royal family

    4. Messi and Ronaldo are close to retirement and neither will have another World Cup, so FIFA needs to push another superstar to attract casuals. Haaland is white & blond so he will appeal to people who will never get behind players like Mbappe, Dembele, Bellingham, Yamal etc.

Nothing against him of course; he seems nice and likable and obviously extremely talented. It’s just interesting to see that post-Messi & Ronaldo, the next generation’s mega-talents mainly are Black and they haven’t been treated so well by the media. Mbappe is arguably the best player of his generation, who’s close to breaking Messi’s all-time World Cup scoring record despite being 12 whole years younger, but American media isn’t fawning over him in the same way.

He’s become my favorite player. Phenomenal and funny, wholesome human 😂

Probably not until after the World Cup or at least after Norway goes out. I can’t think of any recent athletes who have gone on a Late Night Show during a tournament or season.

Haaland – “Yes. It’s exciting to play in the World Cup.”

Jimmy Fallon – “***HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA OMG THAT’S SO FUNNY HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA”***

What a waste of a talk show host.

As far as I know he is not a rapist. Why would Jimmy Fallon invite him to be on his show?

I thought Jimmy Fallon only supported rapists like known rapist Connor Mcgregor who Jimmy Fallon had on his show and remained silent with complicity even though he himself has daughters.

Any of the other hosts would be better. Having Conor McGregor on is unacceptable.

I’ve had his theme song stuck in my head for weeks. 🎶Haaland, Haaland🎶

Fallon and co clearly trying to do damage control from the completely correct reaction to the McGregor appearance.

    13. Haaland: So I have this important story to te-

Fallon: DO THE ROWING THING! LET’S GET THE AUDIENCE TO DO THE ROWING THING!
